Who we are

Shield is being created by Mariessa and Evan ("we", "us"), based in Charlotte, NC, USA, and British at heart. We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact us at contact.myashield@gmail.com.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and keep a note of when and how you signed up.

If you email us, we will also have your message and anything you choose to include in it. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this website.

What we do with it

We use your email address to send you a welcome email and occasional updates about Shield, such as early access and launch news. We rely on your consent to do this, which you give by signing up. You can withdraw your consent at any time by replying "unsubscribe" to any of our emails or by emailing us, and we will remove you.

Private and confidential

Your details are kept private and confidential, and will never be sold.

Who helps us

We use a small number of trusted services to run the website and the waitlist:

• Google (Google Sheets and Gmail) stores the waitlist and sends our emails.
• Netlify hosts this website. Like most web hosts, it may process technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
• Google Fonts provides the lettering on this website. To load it, your browser shares your IP address with Google.

These providers may process information in the United States or other countries. They use recognised safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses. We never sell your information or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we stop sending Shield updates, whichever comes first. We then delete it from our waitlist.

Children

Shield is designed for families, but this waitlist is for parents and carers. Please only sign up if you are 18 or over.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to object to how we use it, and to withdraw your consent. Just email contact.myashield@gmail.com and we'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please get in touch with us first so we can put things right. You can also contact your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
